The New Nostalgia
Ian Chislett and Aravind Selvaraj, former (friendly) rival taco chefs, took over this Prince Edward County institution in April of 2026. These two had a a premonition when at the Mustang as guests - what if this could be more?
That premonition led to them pooling their resources and combining under the REBEL TACO banner before purchasing the Mustang. They have expanded the concession menu to include tex mex delights and even more movie theatre classics (soft serve or queso anyone?).
The Mustang plays first run movies and throwbacks with special menus when availble. The 20 years of hospitality experience makes your night that much easier from arrival to departure. The Mustang is building out its systems to allow you to order from your car, improving infrastructure, opening earlier in the year and closing later as well as adding shaded structures for comfort. But that’s not all of it…
More than just movies.
That was the stimulus that led to our Rebel Taco beergarden which runs 5 days a week noon until 7pm. Come enjoy the site, play in the county’s biggest sandbox (lil’ Sandbanks), enjoy the infamous tacos that made the Mustang possible and maybe even kick back and stick around for a movie ( or two!)
You can also check out rebel taco’s other location inside slake brewery where we have the crispiest tacos around.
Community
Means a lot to the owners, serving food and beverages to patrons is just that, service. At the end of the day Ian and Aravind are committed to keeping this treasure of an institution alive and available to their community. It is their privilege to be entrusted with such a property, and their luck to be able to reinvent something so classic.
See you under the stars

Teamwork makes the dream work!
We wouldn’t be the business we are without the helping hands of our incredible team. Each year we are dedicated to hiring to the best and brightest young people from our community. By supporting the drive-in you are supporting their professional development and growth and hopefully their fond memories of ‘that time they worked at a drive-in for a few summers’. We are so lucky to have the team we have and we hope that you like ‘em too. If you want to work with us you will find any available job postings HERE.
