The New Nostalgia
Dawn Laing & Drew Downs took over this Prince Edward County institution in April of 2020, at the height of a global pandemic. Great time to get into a new business, right? Well, after picking up the property in the fall of 2019 there was no looking back. Dawn & Drew come to this project brimming with business, art, event and ornithology experience! Over the last five years The Mustang PEC has been revived and become a premier destination for local and visiting nostalgia hunters looking for a time they maybe didn’t even know and making new memories with people they do know. You know?
As with any entrepreneurial journey these two have built up the business to be successful, profitable and fun. Who knew owning a lifestyle business could be so energizing. Sure you work hard May - September, and in this case they live above the snackbar, but October - May the world is literally your oyster! These two have spent winters living in a camper van traveling through Mexico for months at a time, embraced the snow lovers lifestyle and made a mountain town their home away from home for a season all while renting their home to couples keen on enjoying PEC over the winter. It’s been a soulful journey.
Now it’s your turn - The Drive- In is for sale and if you’re looking to change your life maybe this legacy business is for you. Maybe you see a new creative twist (Tesla Diner & Charge Station? Disc Golf during the day, drive in by night? Movie set? Get creative!) or appreciate the Commercial Highway Zoning and want to develop a mini-hotel and drive-in?
